DB Specialist IMS Mainframe Job Description

This is a dynamic role where you will be responsible for the physical and technical oriented aspects of database management, including storage, security, and networking. You will also handle application-related issues such as queries, users, and embedded SQL.

You will ensure database resources are sized accurately and develop a design strategy to maintain a healthy database size. This includes ensuring availability and performance of multi-database and application environments with large volumes and sizes.

As a DB Specialist, you will perform routine DBA tasks such as database maintenance, backups, recovery, table space management, upgrades, and periodic health checks. You will recommend changes to improve database efficiency and work closely with developers to assist with database structure design.

Key responsibilities include:
