About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced WebSphere Application Server Specialist to join our team in Hyderabad. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support for our WebSphere Application Server infrastructure. This includes providing project support, change management, development support, estate management, and consultancy services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide WebSphere Application Server expertise to build and maintain our WebSphere Application Server infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with our development teams to review, schedule, and resource production change activity associated with our WebSphere Application Server services.
  • Provide ongoing support to ensure our development teams have the necessary engagement to progress WebSphere Application Server configurations and resolve problems.
  • Manage our WebSphere Application Server estate, including security patching, fix packs, and SSL certificate renewals.
  • Collaborate with our central middleware function to understand initiatives and their impact on our WebSphere Application Server services.
  • Provide guidance and expertise to our technology teams on WebSphere Application Server technologies and HSBC standards.
  • Identify and progress automation opportunities within our middleware environments.
Requirements
  • A senior engineer with at least 48 months of experience in IBM Websphere Application Server ND, IBM HTTP Server/Plugin Administration, and Websphere Liberty Profile in a Linux environment.
  • Web technologies troubleshooting support experience, with exposure to Apache Tomcat implementations.
  • Working knowledge of cluster/non-cluster environments within IBM WebSphere Application Server ND.
  • WebSphere resources configuration experience, including JDBC providers, data sources, JNDI, J2C authentication alias, and IBM MQ.
  • SSL certificate renewal for IBM HTTP Server and working knowledge of the WAS key-store/trust-store.
  • Global security with LDAP for WebSphere Application Server exposure.
  • Fix pack installation and troubleshooting experience on IBM WAS/IBM HTTP Server/Plugin.
  • Knowledge of SSO, including configuring security domains in IBM WAS ND.
  • Knowledge of heap dump/thread dump analysis and experience using industry monitoring tools (AppDynamics).
  • General networking experience related to Web Tech services (load balancing).
