We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with expertise in Databricks, Unity Catalog, PySpark, and SQL to join our data team.
- Design and implement scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks and PySpark to efficiently process and transform large datasets.
- Manage data governance, access controls, lineage, and auditing across data assets with Unity Catalog, ensuring seamless data integration and compliance.
- Develop high-performance SQL queries and optimize Spark jobs to minimize processing time and maximize efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with data scientists, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data needs and provide tailored solutions.
- Ensure data quality and compliance throughout the entire data lifecycle, from ingestion to analysis.
- Implement best practices for data security and lineage within the Databricks ecosystem, safeguarding sensitive information and maintaining transparency.
- Participate in agile development methodologies, version control, and testing practices for data pipelines, driving continuous improvement and innovation.
Essential Skills:
- Proven experience working with Databricks and Unity Catalog (data permissions, lineage, audits) to drive data-driven decision-making.
- Strong hands-on skills with PySpark and Spark SQL to develop efficient data processing pipelines.
- Solid experience writing and optimizing complex SQL queries to improve data retrieval and processing speed.
- Familiarity with Delta Lake, data lake house architecture, and data partitioning to ensure scalable and efficient data storage.
- Experience working with cloud platforms like Azure or AWS to leverage their data management capabilities.
- Understanding of data governance, RBAC, and data security standards to maintain compliance and trustworthiness.
