About This Role

This team will work closely with our engineering teams worldwide to strengthen existing products and build out new lines. You'll collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to design and maintain multiple technologies, including APIs, credit scoring systems, payments integrations, and operations tools.

We face numerous technical challenges, such as maintaining complex financial systems and accessing creative data sources for our algorithmic credit model. As an engineering team, we value bottom-up innovation and decentralized decision-making: The best ideas can come from anyone in the company.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Designing, building, and maintaining scalable backend systems for frontend clients.
  • Integrating with third-party systems, including payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platforms.
  • Helping us build new financial products and features.
  • Scaling our backend services to growing levels of traffic and complexity.

You'll Need:

  • Strong experience (3-8 years) in building backend software for web-based or mobile products.
  • Leveraging modern AI tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including computer science fundamentals, distributed systems, data storage, and agile development methodologies.
  • A pragmatic approach combining technology and product needs to find the best solution for each problem.
  • An excellent collaborator & communicator. Startups require teamwork.
  • Excitement working in a distributed team and collaborating with teammates worldwide.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proficiency in at least one programming language like Python.
  • Hands-on experience with toolstacks like dbt, Airflow, Snowflake, Metabase, etc.
  • Strong command on Data Modelling and Organization best practices.
