About the Role

The position of Senior Ruby on Rails Software Engineer is to design, develop, and deploy software solutions for clients.

You will work closely with technical architects, product designers, quality assurance specialists, and other software engineers to build innovative features for strategic program management solutions.

This role involves creating front-end software using React/Javascript according to visual designs provided by the UX team.

Implementing corresponding backend model software using Ruby on Rails is also a key responsibility.

Maintaining existing client applications, including resolving customer-raised issues quickly, is another critical task.

You will write unit tests to ensure high-quality Ruby on Rails code within the client's infrastructure.

Collaborating effectively with stakeholders to understand user needs and provide excellent customer solutions is essential.

Estimating, planning, and managing tasks as a developer in an Agile team is also required.

Documenting technical processes and software changes when necessary is a must.

Protecting confidential data and ensuring information security protocols are followed is vital.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline.
  • 3-9 years professional software development experience.
  • Proficiency in Ruby on Rails, Javascript with React capability desirable, SQL, and database use.
  • CI/CD technologies (Gitlab an advantage).
  • Knowledge of SaaS application architecture and design with Azure knowledge desirable.
  • Software engineering and best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source code control, build processes, testing, and operations.
