Release Operations Engineer

At PubMatic, we're seeking a skilled Release Operations Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for building and deploying our applications, ensuring consistency and reliability across development and production environments.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing application configurations and deployment servers inventory
  • Monitoring the health and performance of applications post-release, responding to and troubleshooting incidents related to releases and operations
  • Acting as a liaison between Release Manager, Operations, and Engineering stakeholders, communicating release status and issues to relevant parties, and facilitating post-mortem reviews and retrospectives to identify areas for improvement
  • Creating and maintaining deployment procedures and related documentation
  • Setting up Linux servers, application installation, server rebuilds, cluster management, and ensuring platform support for cross-functional delivery of large-scale, complex projects involving multiple internal and external teams
  • Ensuring security measures, addressing vulnerabilities through required upgrades and patches
  • 24/5 rotational weekday shifts, including night and weekend on-call support

Requirements include:

  • Engineering graduates or postgraduates with 3-5 years of experience in Release and DevOps operations
  • 3-5 years of experience in infrastructure setup on Build/Release Engineering, Continuous Integration and Delivery, Configuration/Change Management
  • Good experience with Linux/Unix administration and moderate to significant experience administering relational databases such as MySQL and Postgres
  • Experience with Docker and related tools (Kubernetes, GIT, Grafana, Prometheus, etc.)
  • Experience working in Config management tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Terraform, etc.)
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting (Nagios, ELK, PagerDuty, etc.)
  • Experience with basic networking and load balancing
  • Experience designing, implementing, and testing Disaster Recovery plans
  • Experience managing and securing Access Control in regard to infrastructure
  • Proven ability to work and communicate with a team of highly technical software/systems engineering
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills are key
  • Experience in working in both premise and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP)
  • Experience with distributed systems and related technologies is a plus
  • Experience with creating multi-tenant and self-hosted environments is a plus
  • Agile development experience in a fast-paced environment; working experience in small teams/pods/squads is highly desired
  • Contribution to open-source projects or experience working with open-source ecosystems is a good addition to have
  • Strong analytical skills are appreciated, with a penchant for solving complex technical problems
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Team player and ability to work with different multicultural teams
  • Proactive attitude on identifying problems and providing solutions
  • Creative and innovative thinking
