Lead Process Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Process Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in process engineering and leadership, with a proven track record of success in supervising and leading a team of engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop process design basis and philosophies based on scope of work.
  • Execute FEED jobs in the Petrochemical field with experience in Phenol and Cumene.
  • Review and perform process simulations, guiding process engineers to develop heat and mass balances as required.
  • Develop PFDs, PSFDs, P&IDs, C&EDs, and Safe charts.
  • Apply routine process calculations (hydraulics and sizing) and use process software and in-house developed spreadsheets.
  • Design process control configurations and ESD systems, equipment designs such as separators, pumps, compressors, gas treatment units.
  • Familiarity with engineering and design of facilities involving Fired Heaters, Heat Exchangers, Columns is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Steam, Instrument air, Plant air, Nitrogen, Fuel gas/oil systems, Water systems (Cooling water, Chilled water, Potable water treatments, DM water, Wastewater).
  • Conversant with Compressor hydraulics.
  • Perform relief valve and flare load calculations.
  • Develop utility balance, UFD, and summary for all utilities of a process plant.
  • Familiarity with offsites including tank farm, boilers, and power generation.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices, calculation methods, international standards, codes, specifications, and procedures.
  • Coordinate planning, scheduling, and execution of projects.
  • Collaborate with peers and subordinates involved from other engineering departments.
  • Mitigate risks related to performance guarantees, vendor packages scope, etc. Review vendor offers, prepare technical bid analysis.
  • Evaluate Vendor/Consultant/Licensor offers for Process Packages/Equipment, Specialized Process Engineering Studies.
  • Familiarity with routine safety studies like HAZOP, HAZID, SIL.
  • Knowledge of Pre-commissioning/Commissioning/Operations is an added advantage.
  • Good report writing skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering with 20-25 years of experience.
  • Proficient in process engineering software (HYSYS, Flarenet, Pipenet, Pipesim).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, refinery, Offshore, and Utilities & Offsites related industries.
