Network Infrastructure Specialist Job

The Network Infrastructure Specialist is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the organization's network infrastructure.

This includes ensuring high availability, security, and performance of systems to support business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain LAN, VAN, VPN, and Wi-Fi networks.
  • Configure management devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and access points.
  • Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
  • Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and encryption protocols.
  • Collaborate with ISPs and vendors to ensure reliable Internet connectivity.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures and best practices for service and network.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g. GDPR, ISO 27001).

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of server operating systems like Windows and Linux.
  • Proficiency in networking protocols TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP; experience with virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.

Problem-Solving: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex network issues with an analytical mindset and focus on root cause analysis.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Experience: 5-6 years of experience in network administration with hands-on experience with enterprise-grade infrastructure.
