Establishing a strong foundation in software development is crucial for our Audit Technology division at Thomson Reuters. As we continue to drive innovation in Cloud Audit Suite (CAS) platforms, we are seeking an exceptional individual to take on the role of Lead Software Engineer.

About the Role

  • Leverage your expertise to lead multiple and/or significant projects, programs, and business initiatives, fostering creativity and ingenuity throughout the team.
  • Develop end-to-end technical solutions and tackle complex problems that may be ambiguous in nature, driving excellence in software engineering.
  • Determine work priorities based on general direction from managers, ensuring seamless project execution.
  • Mentor and train colleagues, including Sr. Software Engineers, to enhance their skills and contribute to the team's growth.
  • Cultivate a strategic focus to develop and test software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products, meeting designated release plans and delivery commitments.
  • Deliver software features with exceptional quality, meeting designated release plans and delivery commitments.
  • Collaborate on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors, driving informed decision-making.
  • Owning a functional area, you will break large requests down into sub-tasks, provide higher-level status updates, write test plans, take operational responsibility, set measurable goals, and meet them.
  • Perform code reviews, ensuring high-quality code standards across the team.
  • Participate in developing technical/business approaches and new or enhanced technical tools, contributing to the evolution of our software development capabilities.
  • Set software engineering project schedules, define project parameters and tasks, and monitor project tasks, ensuring timely completion.
  • Develop and maintain the 'vision' of the project, leading others toward its completion, and resolving a wide range of issues in creative ways.
  • Owning the development and rollout for an entire product or large project, you will lead the daily work of assigned work groups/teams, recommending modifications to daily operations and making needed adjustments to short-term priorities.

    About You

    • You are a suitable candidate for this position if you have:
    • 2+ years of experience leading cross-functional software development teams.
    • 10+ years of experience in software development.
    • A Bachelor's Degree in Systems Engineering or similar.
    • Possess people-oriented skills.
    • Proficiency in C#/.Net Core/Angular.
    • Experience with REST APIs and microservices.
    • Excellent presentation skills, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Knowledge of SCRUM Agile methodology.
    • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
    • Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes, AWS Services (EC2/ECR/ECS/EKS/S3/IAM).
    • GitHub, ADO.

    We estimate the annual salary for this position to be around $150,000-$200,000, depending on qualifications and location.
