Job Summary

The Maintenance Operations Manager role is a critical position that supports the maintenance team and oversees the complete management of engineering, electrical, and civil maintenance activities for facilities. This key responsibility involves supporting and executing preventive maintenance planning, repair estimation, vendor performance monitoring, and safety inspections to ensure smooth facility operations.

This position partners with the Operations Department to resolve technical issues related to equipment breakdowns, improve maintenance practices, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance jobs including warranty jobs.
  • Oversee maintenance activities for electrical, mechanical, and rail siding equipment.
  • Manage spare part inventory and ordering process.
  • Track major breakdowns, repairs, and external party repairs.
  • Conduct safety inspections of equipment and ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Create and implement preventive maintenance schedules for equipment.
  • Maintain records for diesel consumption and tire efficiency of handling equipment.
  • Raise requisitions for electrical, mechanical, and rail siding spares.

Requirements:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant discipline or certifications in Maintenance Management/Facilities Management is a plus.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and rail siding equipment maintenance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to plan and manage preventive maintenance and repair activities.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documentation and complex written information.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and vendor coordination.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations and their application to maintenance.
