Database Administrator

As a key member of our team, you will collaborate closely with senior developers to design, test, plan, protect, and implement our department's databases. This involves managing locking, process blocking, and performance tuning of our databases.

Key responsibilities include creating and maintaining a high availability and disaster-recovery-friendly architecture, managing backup and restoration processes, monitoring and metrics tooling, and dashboards for both high-level and granular insights into database performance and operation.

You will also be responsible for handling support tickets when necessary, backing up your peers, developing and deploying new database objects, and making changes to existing database objects including tables, stored procedures, views, etc.

Additional tasks involve designing, developing, and maintaining complex relational database reports using SSRS, as well as analyzing, troubleshooting, and breaking down complex problems.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Advanced understanding of relational database architecture/infrastructure, specifically MSSQL
  • Knowledge of SSMS, SSRS, and support tooling
  • Knowledge of T-SQL, Stored Procedures, and day-to-day DB functions
  • Advanced knowledge of optimizing MSSQL, supporting HA/DR, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of systems and software development lifecycles; application integration techniques; and relational database design
  • Experience with Always on High Availability Groups is a plus
