Diagnostic Imaging Specialist

• Imaging studies such as X-rays, Ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, Mammography, DEXA and Fluoroscopy are interpreted.
• Detailed diagnostic reports with clinical correlation are prepared.
• Urgent or unexpected findings are communicated to treating physicians promptly.

• Minimally invasive procedures such as FNAC, biopsies, drainages, image-guided catheter placements are performed or assisted in.
• Aseptic techniques and safety protocols are adhered to during procedures.

• Imaging equipment is checked for proper functioning and technical faults are reported promptly.
• Coordination with radiology technicians for scan planning, protocol adherence and patient positioning is ensured.
• Radiation safety for patients and staff is maintained; dose logs and compliance with AERB guidelines are ensured.

• Imaging procedures are explained to patients and informed consent is obtained when required.
• Patient concerns are addressed and post-procedure guidance is provided if necessary.
• Privacy, empathy and professionalism are maintained throughout patient interaction.

• An MBBS + MD / DNB in Radiology / Radio-Diagnosis is required.
• Valid registration with State or National Medical Council is mandatory.

Additional Qualifications

• Fellowship in a sub-specialty: Neuro-Radiology, Interventional Radiology, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Breast Imaging, etc. is desirable.
• Experience in high-end imaging technologies (3T MRI, PET-CT, etc.) is beneficial.
• Teaching or academic experience (for faculty positions) is advantageous.

• Strong analytical and observational skills are essential.
• Proficiency in interpreting cross-sectional and conventional imaging is necessary.
• Skill in using PACS, RIS and hospital EMR systems is required.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are vital.
• Ability to handle high-volume workloads with accuracy is essential.
• Commitment to patient safety and data confidentiality is mandatory.
