Job Description

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable REST APIs from OpenAPI specs: authentication, Plaid link/exchange, webhooks, transactions list/patch, and insights refresh/list.
  • Write efficient SQS workers for ingestion and insights pipelines, including Plaid cursor sync, idempotent upserts to Postgres, and raw payloads to S3.
  • Develop and evolve Postgres schemas/migrations, implement efficient queries, cursor pagination, and Redis caching for hot reads.
  • Enforce input validation, structured logs, and distributed tracing across the system.
Required Skills and Qualifications

Must-haves:

  • 5+ years of experience building Node/TypeScript backends with Postgres and a queue (SQS/Rabbit/etc.).
  • Proven expertise in secure webhooks, third-party APIs, and data processing.
  • Strong grasp of idempotency, retries/backoff, cursor pagination, error design, and API performance.
  • Comfortable with Docker, GitHub Actions, and observability fundamentals.
