Lead Data Architect

Job Description:

We seek a seasoned professional to lead our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing high-performance data solutions using Teradata.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and implement scalable Teradata-based data solutions.
  • Guide and mentor a team of developers to ensure adherence to best practices, coding standards, and project timelines.
  • Develop and optimize complex ETL processes using various Teradata utilities and industry-standard tools.
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries, BTEQ scripts, and utilize TPT, FastLoad, MultiLoad, and FastExport for efficient data loading and extraction.
  • Perform in-depth performance tuning of Teradata queries, processes, and overall system workload to ensure optimal data retrieval and processing speeds.
  • Design and implement efficient data models within the Teradata environment, aligning with data warehousing principles.
  • Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and data solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex data and performance issues within the Teradata ecosystem.
Required Skills:
  • 10-15 years of experience in data warehousing, with 8+ years specifically in Teradata Development.
  • Strong hands-on experience in SQL, BTEQ, TPT, FastLoad, MultiLoad, and FastExport.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL frameworks, and dimensional data modeling.
  • Proficient in performance tuning, query optimization, and workload management in Teradata.
  • Experience with Unix/Linux scripting and automation tools for data processing.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and providing technical guidance.
  • Experience working in Agile environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with data integration tools such as Informatica, Talend, or DataStage.
  • Teradata certification is a plus.
