Senior Linux Software Developer

We're seeking an exceptional Senior Linux Software Developer to join our team. As a key member of our development squad, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the best Ubuntu integration for the latest IoT and server-class hardware platforms and software stacks.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement cutting-edge Ubuntu integrations for leading-edge hardware platforms and software stacks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver top-notch Ubuntu experiences on partner platforms
  • Take a holistic approach to the Ubuntu experience on partner platforms, driving technical excellence through input on technical plans, testing strategies, and quality metrics
  • Lead complex customer engagements involving complete system architectures from cloud to edge
  • Help customers seamlessly integrate their apps, SDKs, build device OS images, optimize applications with Ubuntu Core, Desktop, and Server

  • You have a passion for technology and enjoy working with brilliant minds
  • You hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or a related field
  • You possess hands-on experience with Linux packaging (Debian, RPM, Yocto)
  • You're well-versed in open-source communities and licenses
  • You've worked with C and C++ programming languages
  • You can effectively work in a globally distributed team through self-discipline and self-motivation

Beyond the Basics:

  • A solid understanding of graphics stacks is a plus
  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DHCP, HTTP/REST) is beneficial
  • A basic grasp of security best practices in IoT or server environments is advantageous
  • Excellent communication skills, preferably with public speaking experience
  • IoT/embedded experience, from board and SoC to OS and apps, is highly valued
  • Docker/OCI containers/K8s experience is a nice-to-have
