Costing Specialist Position

We are seeking an experienced Costing Specialist to join our Strategic Sourcing team in Chennai. As a Costing Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring cost-effective commercial settlements with suppliers and optimizing input raw material & post operation expenses.

  • Ensure CCPM project cost settlement on time using Zero base costing (ZBC) and Total cost of ownership (TCO) methodology.
  • Monitor commodity expenses and analyze monthly trends.
  • Audit raw material prices regularly, quarterly, or half-yearly as required.
  • Conduct supplier visits to understand their capabilities and areas for improvement, focusing on cost drivers and cost-effective commercial settlements.
  • Optimize input raw material and post-operation expenses to reduce costs.
  • Settle Machine Hour Rate (MHR) with suppliers for press, CNC, VMC, and coating processes with competitive pricing.
  • Develop cost-saving ideas through spend analysis.
Requirements:
  • Strong understanding of draw, forming processes, machining processes, surface finishing processes, and rubber/injection molding/blow molding processes.
  • Familiarity with IATF 2016 system, core tools, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
  • Knowledge of AUTOCAD/3D software and experience with some software.
  • Understanding of location-wise labor rates, landed electricity charges, and their breakdowns.
  • Skill set enhancement methodologies to improve productivity and efficiency for commercial aspects.
  • Familiarity with existing tax structures and legal compliance.
