Cloudflare WAF Expert

 

  • Safeguard web applications from cyber threats, ensuring the security and integrity of online services.
  • Analyze web traffic anomalies, identifying potential risks and taking proactive measures to mitigate them.
  • Collaborate with teams to integrate WAF alerts into central SIEM/SOC for real-time monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot WAF blocks, performance issues, and content caching anomalies to maintain optimal system performance.
  • Maintain access control, rate limiting, and geo-restriction rules to ensure secure and compliant operations.
  • Generate reports for stakeholders and participate in threat modeling exercises to stay ahead of emerging threats.
  • Assist in rule set upgrades, custom signatures, and API security enhancements to continuously improve security posture.
  • Participate in disaster recovery drills and ensure WAF availability in failover scenarios to guarantee business continuity.

Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven 5 to 7 years' experience with Cloudflare WAF or equivalent (e.g., Akamai, AWS WAF), with a strong understanding of web protocols and application security.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps pipelines and app security standards, including certification in relevant areas such as CEH or GIAC Web Application Defender (GWEB).

Certifications:

  • Cloudflare Certified WAF Practitioner (if available)
  • CEH or GIAC Web Application Defender (GWEB)
  • OWASP Top 10 – mastery preferred
