Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Steel Fabrication Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with steel detailing and modeling, material takeoffs, procurement, and vendor coordination.

The successful candidate will work closely with the project team to ensure accurate shop drawings and bills of materials. They will also be responsible for reviewing drawings and shop details to identify all materials, hardware, and consumables required for fabrication and installation.

In this role, you will use detailing software (Tekla Structures, AutoCAD/Advance Steel) to model and detail steel components including stairs, railings, embeds, and structural steel. You will also generate and organize CNC files, bolt lists, BOM, and fabrication-ready documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Steel Detailing: Interpret architectural and structural drawings to produce accurate shop drawings and bills of materials.
  • Material Takeoffs: Review drawings and shop details to identify all materials, hardware, and consumables required for fabrication and installation.
  • Procurement: Create accurate takeoffs and prepare purchase lists for materials.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Software Proficiency: Tekla Structures or AutoCAD/Advance Steel (required).
  • Experience with Bluebeam Revu and Excel (required). Familiarity with Revit or Tekla EPM (FabSuite) a plus.
  • Strong understanding of structural and architectural steel fabrication.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex architectural and structural drawings.
  • Experience preparing takeoffs and bills of materials from shop drawings.
