Cloud Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud architectures, infrastructure as code, and automation.

The successful Cloud Engineer will be responsible for:

  1. Proposing and implementing advanced cloud architectures in alignment with key cloud providers such as AWS and Google;

  2. Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure;

  3. Supporting the continuous evolution of the client's infrastructure as code approach, ensuring advanced levels of automation throughout the lifecycle of all workloads;

  4. Ensuring there are no single points of failure in the infrastructure;

  5. Continuously improving efficiency when setting up new cloud infrastructure and maintaining existing instances, ensuring automation, resilience, and security.

You will require the following qualifications and skills:

Technical Skills:

  • Experience with Docker;
  • Experience with Linux systems management;
  • Proven experience in Kubernetes;
  • Experience with Git, GitHub, BitBucket or Stash;
  • Experience with CI and CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo or similar);
  • Solid Experience with at least a programming/scripting language (Python, Ruby, Bash, GO, Java, Node.js, PHP);
  • Experience with application and system monitoring tools (such as Datadog, Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, Prometheus, ElasticSearch, Kibana);
  • Experience in the configuration, management and troubleshooting of web servers (Apache, NGINX), database systems (SQL and NoSQL), caching (Cassandra, Redis, Memcache or others) and queues (RabbitMQ, ZeroMQ or similar);
  • Experience working as a DevSecOps or Cloud Engineer in an agile and fast-paced environment;
  • Experience in a continuous integration/deploy environment;
  • Experience with AWS;
  • Automation experience in the context of a microservice/SOA architecture.
