We are seeking a skilled Master Pastry Artisan to join our culinary team.
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented and driven individual to take their pastry skills to the next level in a dynamic kitchen environment. As a Master Pastry Artisan, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring every dish meets the highest standards of quality and consistency.
Responsibilities:
- Sustain smooth and efficient operation and control of the Pastry Shop and production on a daily basis according to established policies and procedures.
- Ensure the production, quality, and presentation of the pastry and dessert assortment used in daily menus meet company standards.
- Assist in preparing production forecasts and recording leftovers to minimize wastage and optimize food costs.
- Set up the pastry display in various buffets as required.
- Maintain complete knowledge of United States Public Health rules and regulations and ensure adherence on a daily basis.
- Responsible for cleaning the Pastry Shop according to established schedules and exercise proper methods to prevent equipment damage.
- Prepare the pastry galley for announced or unannounced USPH inspections.
- Requisition and transport necessary items from main stores to the pastry shop when assigned.
- Ensure recipes and yields adhere to company standards.
- Assist in completing the daily pastry consumption recap as requested by senior chefs.
- Awareness of shipboard operations and ability to assist guests and crew members with inquiries.
- Attend meetings, training activities, courses, and other work-related events as required.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
Requirements:
- A minimum of three years' experience as a Pastry Cook in upscale hotels, resorts, cruise ships, or convention banqueting services (shipboard experience preferred).
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, requirements, and equipment usage.
- High school diploma or basic education equivalency requirement.
