API Testing Expert

We are seeking a skilled API testing professional with expertise in manual and automated testing. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with popular testing tools, CI/CD practices, and Agile methodologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform manual API testing to validate functionality and performance using Postman.
  • Automate API testing for faster regression and continuous validation using RestAssured or Playwright.
  • Design and document test cases, scenarios, and test data based on business requirements.
  • Log, track, and manage bugs using JIRA or Azure DevOps, collaborating with development teams for resolution.
  • Build and manage test automation pipelines using Jenkins integrated within CI/CD workflows.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Visual Studio or VS Code as primary IDEs.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies, contributing to sprint planning and retrospectives.
  • Ensure complete test coverage through smoke, sanity, regression, and integration testing.
  • Provide detailed test reports and quality metrics to stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in API testing, both manual and automated.
  • Experience with JIRA, Azure DevOps, and other test management tools.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
  • Good knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP methods, and JSON/XML formats.
  • Familiarity with SDLC, STLC, and Agile methodologies.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in end-to-end automation framework development for APIs.
  • Exposure to web UI automation tools or frameworks.
  • Basic knowledge of databases and SQL queries for backend validation.
  • Experience working on real-time applications in domains like e-commerce or finance.
