Job Summary
ZF Group is seeking a highly skilled Senior Control Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Service and After Sales Team, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of engineering tasks and ensuring proper installation, inspection, service, and commissioning of ZF marine products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform inspection and troubleshooting activities at site locations to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution, and implement corrective action in collaboration with the Service Engineers and technicians.
- Service and maintain ZF propulsion control systems (thrusters and gearboxes) for customers worldwide according to requirements.
- Submit technical reports in accordance with ZF guidelines and standards.
- Perform installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning activities at customer site locations, demonstrating capability to work unsupervised and lead small teams.
- Under the direction of the Service Manager, perform a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of ZF Marine propulsion systems and their controls.
- Develop presentations and provide training and instruction to customers on system operations.
- Promote sales of maintenance services and spare parts.
- Perform other related engineering tasks to facilitate proper commissioning and customer satisfaction.
- Provide continuous, 24-hour, 7-day-a-week support in response to customer calls for service.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum 3-4 years of field service and commissioning experience.
- In the total experience, at least 2 years of Field Service and Commissioning experience with Propulsion systems and associated controls.
- Possesses detailed knowledge, competence, and expertise with installation, service, and commissioning tasks and services of Marine propulsion systems and components.
- Solid computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize MS Office applications.
- Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures, and practices.
- Ability to make decisions regarding completion of tasks and job methods and follow through with results of outcome.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills essential.
- Ability to interact and communicate with Clients, Factory's Technical Team, and Project Managers for the successful completion of Commissioning/Maintenance projects.
- Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals.
- Ability to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Proficiency in English and Hindi.
