Senior Interior Design Manager Job Description

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Interior Design Manager to lead end-to-end design delivery for hospitality projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for translating client briefs into compelling spatial concepts, reviewing and approving layout plans, guest flow, and functional adjacencies, and ensuring adherence to hospitality brand standards, local codes, and accessibility norms.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design & Delivery
    1. Develop and execute interior design strategies and solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
    2. Collaborate with internal stakeholders and global vendors to ensure design quality and brand compliance.
  2. Quality Control
    1. Review drawings: plans, elevations, joinery details, and MEP coordination to ensure accuracy and attention to detail.
    2. Approve Room Data Sheets, Door/Hardware Schedules, and Mock-Up Evaluations to ensure consistency and quality.
  3. FF&E & Specifications
    1. Manage room matrices and furniture take-offs to optimize space utilization and minimize waste.
    2. Oversee spec creation using tools like DesignSpec/SpecSources to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  4. 3D Visualization
    1. Set quality standards for SketchUp/Revit, Lumion/Enscape, V-Ray renderings to ensure visual accuracy and impact.
    2. Guide render scene setup, materiality, lighting, and walkthroughs to enhance the design experience.
  5. Budget & Program Alignment
    1. Sequence deliverables and manage design schedules to ensure timely completion and budget adherence.
    2. Provide Value Engineering (VE) options without scope compromise to optimize project outcomes.
  6. Team & Vendor Management
    1. Coach and review the performance of design team members to ensure high-quality output and continuous improvement.
    2. Coordinate with vendors, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure seamless collaboration and communication.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Architecture.
  • 7-10+ years total experience with hospitality design portfolio (rooms + public areas).
  • 2-4+ years leading design teams and managing external vendors.
  • Strong command of AutoCAD; proficient in SketchUp/Revit, Lumion/Enscape/V-Ray, and Photoshop, and MS Excel (advanced).
  • Experience with FF&E specs, room matrices, take-offs, and specification software.

Nice to Have:

  • Revit-based coordination and hospitality brand rollout experience.
  • Knowledge of sustainability guidelines (VOCs, lighting efficiency).

KPIs:

  • QC Effectiveness: < 2 major design-originated NCRs per phase.
  • Cost Alignment: Meet or exceed VE savings targets.
  • Spec Accuracy: Zero critical gaps in FF&E/specs at tender/shop drawing.

  • AutoCAD (Primary).
  • SketchUp / Revit.
  • Lumion / Enscape / V-Ray.
  • Photoshop.
  • MS Office (Excel Power User).
  • Spec Software (DesignSpec, SpecSources, etc.).
  • Cloud Collaboration (Google Drive / SharePoint / BIM 360).
