Job Title: Risk Management Specialist

Position Overview:

  • This role involves performing control testing as part of the Control Monitoring Program to provide assurance that internal controls over financial reporting are designed and operating effectively.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Perform reviews designed to evaluate risk and test internal controls through an understanding of key business processes, as well as identify opportunities for best practices and improvements.
  • Determine alternative solutions to problems, evaluate courses of action and relevant areas of risk/opportunity and reach sound business decisions.
  • Document accurate, logical, and detailed workpapers that clearly describe the review objective, test procedures and results, and conclusions reached utilizing internal audit methodologies, procedures and standards.
  • Develops a thorough understanding of audit tools such as SOXHub Tool (AuditBoard) and apply them appropriately for work responsibilities.
  • Identifies control exceptions, applies criteria for evaluating after performing root cause analysis. Understands the definition of control exceptions, criteria for evaluating and impact of exceptions on ability to conclude.
  • Support and monitor controls remediation efforts.

Requirements & Technical Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration or related field preferred
  • Understanding of US GAAP, GAAS, Sarbanes-Oxley, COSO framework, and leading business practices
  • 1 years relevant experience, either within Big 4 Audit Firm or in multi-national organization.
  • Prior experience within Risk & Compliance or Internal Control role, finance experience is preferred
  • Microsoft Office skills, primarily Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • CPA required. Other certifications preferred (CIA, CISA, etc).

Preferred Requirements:

  • High level of customer focus and ability to maintain a positive attitude at all times
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
