Senior Network Engineer Role

This role is focused on designing and improving network services and solutions to provide an exceptional experience for associates and contractors. The candidate will work with emerging technologies such as wireless solutions, preferably Juniper MIST, Palo Alto SDWAN, fabric-based LANs, AI-enabled solutions, and cloud-based voice solutions.

The successful candidate will provide technical expertise for all phases of the infrastructure lifecycle from ideation through execution, ongoing management, and service retirement/recycle. This includes:

  • Network Design and Implementation: Collaborate with other teams to design, engineer, implement, and optimize LAN/WAN/WiFi networks, adhering to industry standards and best practices.
  • Network Service Management: Manage network services and circuit capacity to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  • Project Planning and Delivery: Plan and deliver projects, including hardware and software specification, vendor coordination, and operational turnover.
  • Change Planning and Runbook Review: Develop and review change plans and runbooks to ensure smooth operations.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of progressive experience in enterprise networking, with a focus on wireless, SD-WAN, and LAN infrastructure. They should have expertise in enterprise wireless protocols, RF site surveys, and security best practices. Hands-on experience with platforms like Mist AI, Cisco Wireless, or equivalent is essential.

The candidate should be proficient in Layer 2/3 networking concepts, including VLANs, STP, OSPF, BGP, and multicast. They should also be skilled in network monitoring, diagnostics, and performance tools, such as Wireshark, NetBrain, ThousandEyes, and ADEM.

Additionally, the candidate should have excellent documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. Ability to lead network design and implementation projects independently or as part of a team is a must.
