Qatar Airways is seeking a skilled Procurement Officer to join its Global Business Services function in India.


The successful candidate will be responsible for performing operational tasks for all procurement requirements in a given or group of product or service categories, adhering to category strategy, in line with its financial and operational requirements.


Key responsibilities include managing vendor accounts, establishing strong inter-departmental relationships, and providing timely execution of tenders.


The Procurement Officer will work directly with end-users to define specifications to the execution of orders, ensuring compliance and maintaining high professional standards in line with Qatar Airways culture and values.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Conduct market searches to identify potential suppliers and maintain sound relationships with suppliers and the business community.
  • Evaluate the completeness and accuracy of specifications provided by user departments.
  • Monitor and act upon Purchase Enquiries raised by User Departments.
  • Develop RFP/RFQ/RFI and other tender documentations, and run sourcing events end-to-end, including providing justification for recommended selections, gaining approvals, and communicating with User Departments and Suppliers.
  • Be responsible for tender administration, including creating system documents, printing, and approvals circulation, checking for required documents, calculations, and approvals.
  • Keep up-to-date knowledge about relevant commodity indexes, global inflation data, minimum wage levels, and QR active stations.
  • Proactively seek solutions to operational problems, such as delays and lack of supplier responses.
  • Negotiate with suppliers on costs and commercial terms for low to medium value goods and services.
  • Create, review, and maintain relevant procurement activities, including purchase orders and item codes to support operational requirements.
  • Use leading practice procurement tools to implement sourcing strategies, including supply base profiles and summaries of quotations.
  • Ensure conformance at all times of the organisation to procurement processes, DOA/DRM, and any other relevant company policies and processes when performing all duties, such as PO creation and tender issuances.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with 4+ years of job-related experience.
  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • Procurement experience in the aviation industry preferred.
  • Procurement-related vocational qualification and/or educational credits preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, strong communication skills, and negotiation skills.
  • Numeracy and the ability to present data clearly and accurately.
  • Planning, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong contractual, financial, and business acumen.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and usual MS Office tools.
