Welding Technician

This role involves performing various welding techniques such as Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding, or Submerged Arc Welding to join structural steel components.

Key Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Welding Techniques: Perform welding based on project requirements using a variety of techniques.">
  • Structural Steel Components: Weld beams, columns, base plates, stiffeners, etc. to ensure high-quality welds.">
  • Reading and Interpretation: Read and interpret welding symbols, fabrication drawings, and WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications) to ensure accuracy.">
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure weld quality as per ASME / AWS / IS / EN standards.">
  • Work Process: Conduct fit-up, tack welding, and final welding as per approved procedures.">
  • Collaboration: Work with QA/QC team for weld inspection, NDT clearance, and rework if required.">
  • Maintenance: Maintain tools, welding machines, and housekeeping in the work area.">
  • Safety Standards: Adhere to safety standards (use of PPE, fire watch, hot work permits, etc.).">

Requirements

  • Industrial Training Institute qualification.">
  • 2–7 years of experience in industrial fabrication or construction.">
  • Valid Welding Certifications (ASME/AWS/IS preferred).">
  • Ability to work from fabrication drawings and welding symbols.">
  • Physically fit and capable of working in confined spaces or at height.">
  • Knowledge of materials (CS, SS, alloy steel, etc.)">
