Cloud Network Automation Engineer

Role Overview

This role involves designing, implementing, and automating cloud-based network solutions to drive transformation and automation of network operations.

  • Design and implement cloud networking architectures in Azure, GCP, and/or OCI, focusing on VNETs/VPCs, subnets, routing, peering, VPNs, Transit Gateways, and more.
  • Lead the automation of network provisioning, configuration, and monitoring using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
  • Develop and enforce networking best practices and security standards across cloud environments.
  • Integrate network automation with CI/CD pipelines to support Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Troubleshoot complex network issues across hybrid cloud and on-prem environments.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate with security, DevOps, and application teams to ensure optimal network performance and compliance.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's preferred.
  • Strong experience in network engineering (7+ years), with 5+ years focused on cloud networking and automation.
  • Deep expertise in Azure, GCP networking services.
  • Strong scripting/programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages.
  • Proven experience with Terraform, Ansible, in the context of infrastructure automation tools.
  • Familiarity with container networking (Kubernetes, service mesh) is a plus.
  • In-depth understanding of routing protocols, firewalls, DNS, and load balancing.
  • Experience with multi-cloud hub spoke architecture.
  • Experience with SD-WAN and hybrid network architectures.
  • Manage network modules in GitHub.
  • GitHub Actions CI/CD pipeline experience.
  • Must have solid network experience.
  • Experience with Network automation in Azure and GCP building networks.
  • Certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect, GCP Solutions Architect, CCNP/CCIE, or similar are a strong plus.

Preferred skills include familiarity with network observability tools and Agile/Scrum methodologies and DevOps principles.
