Reliability Engineer Leader

Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to shape the SRE function within our organisation and be part of a founder member of the Group SRE team.

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced engineer to join our team at Natobotics. As a system reliability leader, you will define, drive, and implement the SRE strategy across various service lines.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience defining and implementing Service Level Objectives and operating to Error Budgets. They must also have practical experience in monitoring and observability technologies for production systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define SRE strategies and lead architectural reviews for reliability
  • Design and implement reliability improvements, conduct capacity planning, and perform chaos engineering exercises
  • Develop methodologies and strategies for identifying toil-heavy processes and automating their elimination
  • Assist in developing engineering and operational service metrics with actionable plans to improve operational efficiency, enhance service quality/SLA, and optimize delivery
  • Work with all parties to develop and implement SLOs for critical services
  • Lead architectural reviews for reliability and contribute to Test and Deployment processes ensuring that they are as reliable and automated as possible
Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
  • Hands-on SRE practitioner with 5+ years working experience in SRE role
  • Practical experience defining and implementing Service Level Objectives and operating to Error Budgets
  • Have implemented and operated monitoring and observability technologies for a wide range of enterprise-grade production systems
  • Experience in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure etc.)
Desirable Skills
  • Comprehensive understanding of SRE principles and ability to evangelise
  • Working knowledge of modern observability tooling
  • Extensive knowledge of Configuration Management Solutions such as Ansible, Chef or Puppet
