Cloud-Native Developer Job Description

Enterprises are selecting Platform9's Private Cloud Director to migrate away from legacy virtualization platforms because it meets all of the following enterprise requirements:

  • - Familiar VM management experience
  • - Critical enterprise virtualization features: HA, DRR, networking, scale, reliability
  • - Compatibility with all existing hardware environments, including 3rd-party storage
  • - Automated migration tooling that lowers cost barrier by 10x

We are seeking a seasoned Cloud-Native Developer to join our team working on our cloud-native product suite. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in computer science, have worked on cloud-native technologies, and have a willingness to learn new technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of cloud-native products and services for our Kubernetes product ecosystem.
  • Learn and collaborate with the team to design and implement the product roadmap.
  • Support cloud infrastructure deployments using Platform9 products, including troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Continuously monitor and improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of our product line.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or related field.
  • Experience with programming in Python or Golang.
  • 8-12 years of experience in a software development role.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix systems.
  • Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, Ethernet, switching, routing, and network protocols
  • Prior experience in developing networking products (routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, etc.) is highly desirable
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Being a highly motivated self-starter with the ability to work in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies like Kubernetes or Openstack/Devstack is a plus.
  • Prior experience with Linux networking stack, kernel modules, and device drivers is a plus
