Financial Leadership Role

We are seeking a seasoned finance professional to drive performance improvement in the Finance arena. As Area Head of Financial Controlling, you will collaborate with the Area Finance Manager to deliver business priorities and ensure accurate and timely financial accounting and reporting for external IFRS and local statutory compliance.

This role requires a high degree of autonomy, influencing without authority, and strong business partnering skills. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to achieve business outcomes and support transformative actions in the systems and process space.

The key responsibilities include:

  • Aligning with Area CFO objectives and supporting finance and business outcomes as a dependable business partner.
  • Assisting Area Finance Manager in driving optimal working capital and liquidity.
  • Developing and maintaining efficient processes, challenging the status quo, and striving for automation opportunities.
  • Translating organizational objectives into actions and driving these by developing and maintaining an engaged team.
  • Resolving finance issues for the Area through partnership and collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Accurately completing Books of Accounts as per defined periodicity and timelines for scoped Area entities for both APMM and Local Statutory books.
  • Performing controllership aspects to ensure accurate reporting of Balance Sheet Exposure, suggesting required Accounting Adjustments, and developing plans to mitigate future exposures.
  • Ensuring appropriate execution of Area Internal controls and influencing functions to improve Controls scores.
  • Conducting Statutory Audit for scoped entities along with Group Audit with respect to timely completion, filing, and mitigation of audit observations.

Key Metrics include:

  • Timely and quality book closes: both APMM and local statutory.
  • Zero overdue audit points.
  • Reporting of Balance sheet exposures.
  • Control Effectiveness Scores.
  • Working Capital improvement.
  • Zero open Cash/bank items over 30 days.
  • Top quartile engagement score for team.
  • Achieving Automation and efficiency targets.
  • Successful and timely implementation of new systems and special projects.

Critical Skills and Competencies:

  • PREFERRED ACCOUNTING QUALIFICATION CA / CMA / ACCA / CPA /CIMA.
  • BUSINESS PARTNERING SKILLS.
  • INFLUENCING WITHOUT AUTHORITY.
  • COMMUNICATION SKILLS (STORYTELL NUMBERS).
  • HOLDING OTHERS ACCOUNTABLE.
