Job Overview

At TE Connectivity, we are seeking a highly skilled Simulation Engineer to join our team. As a Simulation Engineer, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing simulation techniques to validate design concepts and ensure product robustness.

Responsibilities:
  • Validate concept designs using simulation techniques and determine design robustness, critical to function requirements.
  • Deploy FEA techniques, including implicit and explicit approaches, using software tools like Ansys Workbench, ANSYS Mechanical, LS-DYNA, Icepak, Hypermesh, Simufact, and Digimat.
  • Translate actual problems into Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models, interpret analysis results, and select the best solution, including linear and non-linear analysis under different physics.
  • Monitor and evaluate simulation software capabilities and industry trends.
  • Deploy standardized processes and work methodologies.
  • Develop and train the capability of the team to be a multi-skilled unit.
  • Benchmark and implement productivity improvement methods.
  • Monitor metrics for sustained performance, covering quality and delivery.
  • Collaborate with design and validation teams to enhance design optimization.
  • Understand the influence/impact of recommendations on manufacturability and financials.
Education and Qualifications:
  • BE/B.Tech (Mechanical/Electrical)
  • M Tech (Mechanical/Electrical) (preferred)
  • Knowledge of product, design processes, and methodology.
  • Proficiency in state-of-the-art FEA tools, including ANSYS WORKBENCH, LS-DYNA, HYPERMESH, SIMUFACT, MOLDEX3D, OPTISLANG, and ICEPAK.
  • Proficiency in use of MS Office tools.
  • Knowledge of associated manufacturing processes (molding, stamping, plating, and assembly).
  • Knowledge about additional manufacturing technologies: crimping, Ultrasonic welding, Laser welding technologies, and soldering.
  • Knowledge of Python programming language or similar.
Critical Experience:
  • 8-12 years of industry experience.
  • Expertise in Ansys Workbench.
  • Experience on connector or related products (Plastic and Sheet Metal parts).
  • Knowledge on material science (Metals, Resins, and hyper elastic material) and implementation for simulation.
  • Correlation of test and simulation data/results.
  • Expertise on CAE tools, optimization techniques, and testing methods.

  • Market intelligence: A thorough understanding of market trends and technologies.
  • Conceptual thinking: Being able to see a broad picture, understand problems by putting the pieces together, and simplify complex issues.

  • Communication skills: Fluent communication skills to articulate well with customers and teams across different functions and locations.
  • Internal stakeholder management: Manage requests, address customer requirements, and work effectively with different cross-functional teams.
  • Interpersonal skills: Ensure compliance with rules and processes at TE.
