SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) – A Key Role in Data Management

SAP MDG is a solution designed to manage and maintain master data in an organization. A techno-functional expert in SAP MDG plays a vital role in ensuring data accuracy and quality. At Jenesis Technologies and Consulting Private, we seek a skilled professional to join our team as an SAP MDG Technical Expert.

Responsibilities:

  • Functional Responsibilities:
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their master data management needs.
    • Define and design data models for various domains (e.g., customer, vendor, material).
    • Establish governance processes, including data creation, approval workflows, and validation rules.
    • Implement rules and metrics to ensure data quality and compliance.
    • Provide training to end-users and support them in utilizing the MDG solution effectively.
  • Technical Responsibilities:
    • Configure the MDG application, including the UI, workflows, and data models.
    • Work on integrating MDG with other SAP modules (like SAP S/4HANA) and external systems.
    • Develop custom functionalities using ABAP or other relevant technologies to meet specific business requirements.
    • Monitor and optimize system performance related to master data processes.
    • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and troubleshoot any technical issues that arise.
  • Skills Required:
    • SAP MDG Expertise: Deep understanding of the MDG framework and its components.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ABAP, Fiori/UI5, and knowledge of integration technologies (like IDoc, BAPIs, or APIs).
    • Functional Knowledge: Strong grasp of business processes related to master data (e.g., finance, supply chain).
    • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with both technical teams and business users.
