Job Description:

The System Supervisor oversees a team of engineers, senior engineers, and lead engineers to execute projects independently. This involves managing control systems, overseeing hardware/software design, testing, and FAT with customers.

The project manager framework is followed to ensure adherence to timelines and budgets. Technical guidance is provided to the team. The supervisor serves as the technical interface for customers and ensures alignment with project schedules, scope, and cost.

A turnover meeting will be conducted to discuss project reviews, document technical queries, and clarify scope. Potential technical risks are identified early and escalated to engineering managers.

Project defects are monitored and corrective/preventive actions are initiated to maintain quality standards. Work plans are developed in collaboration with the team, and work scope is controlled against project plans.

Process & Quality:

A culture of continuous improvement is promoted in terms of quality, cost, and standardization. Common methods, tools, and processes are followed from process owner groups. Deliverables are reviewed to ensure they meet project and quality standards.

First-level quality checks are performed by designers, and second-level reviews are done using checklists, software testing, or lab testing. Requests for information (RFIs) and customer communications drafted by engineers are reviewed.

Planning & Reporting:

Engineering estimates are prepared and reviewed with EMs. Weekly customer and project manager calls are participated in. Timely submission of weekly project status reports to project managers is ensured.

Workforce planning is handled using SAP and other planning tools.

Domain Expertise:

BMS HVAC expertise includes strong knowledge of HVAC and BMS systems. Experience in hardware/software engineering as per regional and customer-specific requirements is expected.

IBMS Fire, Security, and ELV Systems expertise includes domain knowledge in FAS, SACS, and ELV systems. Proficiency in engineering practices to meet both project and customer standards is required.

People Management:

Direct supervision and issue resolution for team members is provided. Technical mentoring and performance evaluation in collaboration with reporting managers are overseen. Career development planning is supported, and contributions to award nominations are made.

A culture of standardization, automation, and continuous improvement within the team is driven.

Span of Control:

A team of 35 direct reports is supervised.

Required Behaviors & Competencies:

A passion for winning and growth-focused mindset is necessary. Strong technical excellence and customer orientation are required. Effective communication and talent development skills are essential. Leadership in change management and team collaboration is necessary.

Qualifications:

A BE degree in instrumentation, electronics, electronics & communication, or mechanical engineering is required. A minimum of 10+ years of experience in automation and BMS/IBMS projects is expected.
