Republic World seeks a skilled Data Engineering MongoDB Expert to join its team. As a critical member of our database administration group, you will be responsible for the smooth operation, uptime, and performance of our MongoDB clusters.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer and manage MongoDB clusters to ensure high availability, scalability, and resource efficiency.
  • Monitor and optimize MongoDB performance by identifying bottlenecks, implementing solutions, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Implement robust backup and disaster recovery procedures to safeguard data integrity and minimize downtime.
  • Enforce security best practices, including user access control, encryption, and auditing, to protect our sensitive information.
  • Plan and execute database scaling requirements, including storage, processing power, and replication strategies, to meet business needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with MongoDB updates, patches, and version upgrades to maintain a secure and efficient environment.
  • Demonstrate exceptional troubleshooting skills to resolve complex database-related issues.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing and administering MongoDB databases in a production environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of MongoDB architecture, configuration, and best practices for replication, sharding, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with MongoDB Atlas (cloud-based MongoDB) or other managed database services is a plus.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python, or PowerShell) to automate tasks.
  • Strong understanding of backup and disaster recovery strategies for MongoDB.
  • Knowledge of database security principles (e.g., user roles, authentication, encryption).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MongoDB Certified DBA or Developer is a plus.
  • Experience with NoSQL databases beyond MongoDB (e.g., Cassandra, Couchbase) is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
