Job Description

As a senior product manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data platform. You will be responsible for understanding the needs of our engineering teams, including data engineering, platform engineering, and machine learning engineering. You will collaborate closely with your platform engineering teams and other product managers to build scalable, performant, and reliable infrastructure and tools for our data platform.

You will lead the efforts to identify key capabilities and features needed in the modern data platform, understand consumption patterns for data by various personas, and ensure that these capabilities are powered to solve problems for users. You will set the tone, vision, strategy, OKRs, and prioritization for this capability.

As the voice of the customer, you will work with your product team and stakeholders to ensure their needs are met. You will maintain and refine the product backlog, creating user stories and acceptance criteria, while prioritizing the backlog to focus on high-impact work for your team and stakeholders.

You will foster an open exchange of information and viewpoints, inspire others to achieve challenging goals and high standards of performance, and commit to the organization's direction. You will create a sense of urgency to achieve goals and leverage resources to overcome unexpected obstacles.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Four-year degree in Computer Science Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 6+ years of product management experience in Data Platforms and developer-focused products
  • Strongly prefer someone who has worked as a data engineer or data platform engineer for more than 3 years
  • Strong understanding of Big Data and Cloud technologies, including compute, storage, and query layers
  • Strong ability to influence others without direct authority
  • Strong ability to identify and build great relationships with key users, leaders, and engineering teams
  • Strong ability to work in an agile, collaborative, and matrixed environment
  • Proactive communication, both verbal and written, is a must
  • Proven track record of product leadership
  • Understanding of product lifecycle and product startups is a plus
