Job Opportunity:

A talented data center mechanical design expert is sought to lead the technical aspects of cooling design throughout the project lifecycle.

This role requires a strong understanding of thermal dynamics, HVAC systems, and environmental control technologies. Proficiency in cooling system design software is also essential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership in cooling system design
  • Design and optimize cooling infrastructure for data centers
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards
  • Select and specify cooling equipment, components, and materials
  • Perform buffer tank calculations and thermal override calculations
  • Coordinate with vendors for product selection and integration of equipment into the overall master design
  • Prepare heat load calculations, power usage effectiveness calculations (PUE), technical specifications, and schematics for tendering
  • Develop detailed design drawings for tendering purposes
  • Compile bills of quantity (BOQ), make lists, and coordinate with cost estimation teams on costs and work schedules
  • Provide value engineering inputs towards optimization, reliability, efficient design best practices
  • Use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) tools for validation of proposed designs for HVAC systems for design sign-off
  • Participate in pre-bid meetings and resolve bidder queries
  • Coordinate with project management teams and vendors for quality assurance/quality control requirements
  • Conduct periodic site visits, factory visits for acceptance testing, witnessing testing and commissioning
  • Validate test scripts for installation, start-up, and testing and witness the same
  • Certify and validate all test reports
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in cooling system design software
  • In-depth knowledge of thermal dynamics, HVAC systems, and environmental control technologies
  • Strong understanding of industry standards and regulations
  • Ability to design and implement energy-efficient solutions
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management skills
