As a backend architect, you will be responsible for shaping the technology behind a live financial platform. Your goal will be to ensure scalability and reliability in a rapidly evolving environment.

The Role

We are looking for an experienced professional to own backend delivery in a TypeScript/AWS setting. Your primary focus will be on core features, transactions, and secure APIs that power a product built for real customers and regulatory scrutiny.

  • Designing and extending backend services using TypeScript/Node.js.
  • Writing transactional business logic for financial flows (e.g., onboarding, withdrawals).
  • Developing and maintaining PostgreSQL schemas, migrations, and queries.
  • Integrating with third-party APIs securely (OAuth2, JWT).
  • Improving existing systems for performance, reliability, and audit requirements.
  • Collaborating via GitHub and CI/CD workflows.

You will work closely with our team to ensure that the backend is scalable, reliable, and meets the high standards of our clients.

What We Need

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • 5+ years of backend engineering experience, ideally in financial services.
  • Strong TypeScript/Node.js skills, productive from day one.
  • Hands-on with AWS Lambda and serverless patterns.
  • PostgreSQL experience, schema design, performance tuning, real-world queries.
  • Solid understanding of building secure, documented REST APIs.
  • Able to work independently and communicate clearly.
Nice to Have

If you have any of the following skills, it would be beneficial:

  • Experience with regulated systems (KYC, audit logs, compliance).
  • AWS Cognito and broader infrastructure exposure.
  • Terraform/IaC familiarity.
  • Understanding of polyglot environments as Kotlin may be introduced down the line.
