Job Overview

The role of ASIC Power Management Architect, Silicon involves developing comprehensive power management strategies for advanced System-on-Chip (SoC) designs. This includes defining architecture details, prototyping, and validating power management systems to meet performance and thermal constraints.

  • Define ASIC power management architecture details for SoCs that integrate various functions like image compute, CPU/GPU, to achieve maximum performance under power and thermal constraints.
  • Design and validate next-generation SoC power management systems applicable at different design levels.
  • Analyze implementation and models, test the performance of power management solutions, and optimize them for improved efficiency.
  • Produce detailed documentation for proposed power management schemes and perform trade-off analysis for engineering reviews and product roadmap decisions.
  • Collaborate with software and power architecture teams to develop system-level designs and methods.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in power management or post-silicon measurements and validation.
  • 3 years of experience with power management validation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electronics, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with an emphasis on computer architecture and performance/power analysis.
  • Knowledge of Dynamic Voltage Frequency Scaling (DVFS), idle power management, and system mitigation techniques.
  • Understanding of the impact of software and architectural design decisions on power and thermal behavior of the system, including thermal mitigation and scheduling, and cross-layer policy design.
