Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

As a seasoned Senior Data Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of scalable, high-performance data pipelines using Snowflake and dbt. Your expertise will define architectural best practices and drive data transformation at scale.

About the Role:

• We are seeking an exceptional individual to architect and implement modular, test-driven ELT pipelines using dbt on Snowflake.
• You will design layered data models aligned with dbt best practices, ensuring seamless data integration and analysis.
• Lead ingestion of structured and semi-structured data into Snowflake, optimizing performance and cost.
• Apply advanced dbt capabilities to streamline data processing and enhance business insights.
• Orchestrate workflows using dbt Cloud, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory, ensuring efficient data movement and processing.
• Define and enforce data governance and compliance practices, maintaining data quality and integrity.
• Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, architects, and business stakeholders to deliver strategic data-driven solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead architectural/code reviews, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable data architectures, leveraging Snowflake and dbt for maximum efficiency.
• Create layered data models that align with dbt best practices, facilitating seamless data integration and analysis.
• Develop and maintain modular, test-driven ELT pipelines using dbt on Snowflake, ensuring high-quality data delivery.
• Optimize Snowflake performance and cost, leveraging advanced dbt capabilities for efficient data processing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver strategic data-driven solutions, driving business growth and success.
• Foster a culture of innovation and excellence, mentoring junior engineers and leading architectural/code reviews.

Required Skills:

• Expert-level knowledge of SQL and Snowflake, with experience in designing and implementing scalable data architectures.
• Proficiency in dbt development, with a focus on creating modular, test-driven ELT pipelines.
• Experience in orchestrating workflows using dbt Cloud, Airflow, or Azure Data Factory, ensuring efficient data movement and processing.
• Dimensional modeling (Star/Snowflake schemas) and knowledge of modern data warehousing principles.
• Experience working with Parquet, JSON, CSV, or other data formats, with a focus on data quality and validation.

Desirable Skills:

• Python programming skills for data transformation, notebook development, and automation.
• Jinja templating language exposure for advanced dbt development.
• Knowledge of AI/ML data pipelines, feature stores, or MLflow for model tracking and deployment.
• Data quality and validation frameworks, with a focus on maintaining data integrity and consistency.
• Experience implementing Medallion Architecture, with a focus on data security and compliance.
