Key Responsibilities
  • Developing complete x86 motherboard designs and driving implementation of platform features.
  • Leading cross-functional meetings to close on design requirements and validation procedures.
  • Collaborating with external vendors to discuss design choices, stackup, and component selection.
  • Supporting debug and triage of platform issues, providing consultation to cross-functional team members.
  • Ensuring BOM updates meet milestones and tracking them to closure.
  • Working with SI/PI and Layout teams to execute platform designs with robustness and bring out first-time right designs.
  • Guiding platform manufacturing and assembly quality checks, assisting Board Operations in verifying boards for defects.
  • Performing platform verification and measurements for new products, maintaining test plans and design checklists.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Expertise in board design fundamentals, including mixed-signal, high-speed, and power design.
  • Hands-on experience with debug, triage, and validation procedures for all interfaces and subsystems.
  • Knowledge of EMI/EMC, SI/PI, PCB stackup, crosstalk mitigation, and noise reduction techniques.
  • Experience with EDA tools for schematics/layout and signal integrity (Cadence, Mentor, Orcad, Sigrity, ADS).
  • Familiarity with simulation tools like PSPICE/HSPICE/MATLAB and processor load emulators.
  • In-depth knowledge of hardware development lifecycle, from design conception to customer support.
  • Extensive experience working with cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in high-speed I/Os like PCIe, memory, USB, and display interfaces.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design and analysis.
  • Experience in power management, power delivery, and power measurements.
  • Hands-on high-speed and board measurement techniques using equipment like oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
  • Preferred experience with scripting using TCL or Python.
  • Electrical design, SI and layout analysis, and basic soldering & rework skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and influencing skills.
