Job Title: Senior Data Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our data engineering team, you will play a vital role in designing, building, and maintaining large-scale data systems.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, with experience in building backend and data-intensive applications. You will be responsible for developing scalable, efficient, and reliable data processing systems that can handle high-volume data streams from various sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain large-scale data processing systems using Scala, Java, or other JVM-based languages.
  • Develop and deploy data pipelines using Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink, and other big data technologies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate data systems with existing infrastructure and applications.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to design and implement machine learning models and algorithms.
  • Ensure data quality, security, and compliance by implementing robust data governance policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and apply them to drive business growth and innovation.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • At least 6 years of experience in professional software engineering, with a focus on building backend and data-intensive applications.
  • Strong proficiency in Scala, Java, or other JVM-based languages.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, data storage, and processing technologies such as Kafka, Spark, Flink, HDFS, and S3.
  • Familiarity with containerization tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
