Cloud Data Solutions Architect

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and implement optimal, secure, and cost-effective cloud-based data solutions.
  • Design and implement end-to-end data solutions that cover data ingestion, storage, processing, and visualization.
  • Architect data platforms using services such as Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (ADB), Azure SQL Database, and PySpark.

Data Fabric Implementation:

  • Develop and deploy a data fabric to unify disparate data sources, ensuring seamless integration, data governance, and improved accessibility across the organization.

Data Pipeline & Model Development:

  • Develop and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines for efficient data movement, transformation, and real-time analytics.
  • Design data models and schemas that support business requirements and enable business intelligence and analytical insights.

Collaboration & Leadership:

  • Work closely with Architecture, Applications, and Security teams to refine technical solutions and ensure alignment with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to the data engineering team, fostering innovation and ensuring best practices in data engineering.

Innovation & Documentation:

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in data architecture.
  • Recommend improvements to optimize the data environment, minimize waste, and maximize investments.
  • Create and update comprehensive documentation for solution designs, troubleshooting, and cross-team training.

Security & Compliance:

  • Collaborate with Security and Architecture teams to deploy and refine security best practices, ensuring data is protected against potential threats.
  • Ensure that data solutions comply with industry standards for data protection, threat detection, and recovery.

Experience & Expertise:

  • Minimum 12+ years of IT experience, with at least 2 years as an Azure Data Architect.
  • Strong expertise in all aspects of cloud services with a focus on data engineering, BI reporting, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable, robust, and secure data solutions for large-scale applications.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Azure Data Factory (ADF), Azure Databricks (ADB), Azure SQL Database, PySpark, SQL, NoSQL, and Power BI.
  • Extensive experience in data modeling, data warehousing, and business intelligence concepts.
  • Knowledge and experience in implementing and maintaining data fabric architecture to unify data sources and support efficient data access.

Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with both technical and business teams.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on high-quality output, capable of working independently or in a team setting.
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
