Electrical Engineer for Renewable Energy Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to oversee and support the installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of solar power systems at project sites.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in solar PV systems and a solid understanding of electrical engineering principles applied to renewable energy projects.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Electrical Engineer and contribute to the delivery of solar power systems.

  • Supervise and monitor all solar PV electrical works on-site, including installation of panels, inverters, combiner boxes, transformers, and cable routing.
  • Review and interpret solar electrical drawings, single-line diagrams (SLDs), string configurations, and layout plans.
  • Oversee the installation of LV/MV systems, grounding/earthing systems, protection systems, and monitoring equipment.
  • Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to ensure integrated project delivery.

You will be responsible for conducting pre-commissioning and commissioning activities for solar systems, including insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and inverter testing.

Key Responsibilities

This role requires a high degree of technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and excellent communication skills.

  • Ensure all electrical work complies with international standards (e.g., IEC, NEC), local regulations, and solar industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate daily site logs, quality reports, material inspections, and testing records.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and propose practical on-site solutions to maintain progress and quality.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Master's is a plus
  • 10 years of experience in solar PV system installation and supervision
  • Strong knowledge of solar PV system components (inverters, modules, combiner boxes, etc.).
  • Familiarity with electrical safety standards and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and construction drawings.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Location

This position is based on-site in Liberia, requiring flexibility and adaptability in a remote working environment.
