Data Migration Specialist Job Description

As a Data Migration Specialist, you will be responsible for collaborating with client teams during night shifts to lead and manage the full ETL process for data migration projects. This role involves writing and optimizing complex stored procedures and SQL jobs, as well as enhancing current SSDT-SSIS packages with automation techniques to improve efficiency.

Key responsibilities include handling data mapping and transformation steps for large databases extracted from multiple data sources, implementing and managing data extraction, transformation, and loading processes, and developing efficient scripts to speed up data processing and transformation.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5-7 years of experience in ETL processes and SQL programming
  • Proven experience in data migration projects
  • Strong proficiency in SQL Server, including development of complex stored procedures and SQL jobs
  • Experience with SSDT-SSIS package development and enhancement
  • Ability to automate ETL processes and improve efficiency using stored procedures, scripts, or other techniques
  • Experience with handling data mapping and transformation for large databases
