L2 Network Engineer – Cisco Tetration

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced professional to fill the role of L2 Network Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking and hands-on experience with Cisco Tetration. This is a remote contract position, requiring the engineer to support and manage the customer's Cisco Tetration platform deployed in their Data Center environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing Level 2 operational support for Cisco Tetration, including day-to-day monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Additionally, they will assist in the configuration and deployment of Cisco Tetration components and sensors, as well as support the implementation of application segmentation and micro-segmentation policies across the data center environment.

The engineer will analyze telemetry data to ensure network visibility, security posture, and compliance. They will also collaborate with internal IT and security teams to troubleshoot policy conflicts and application visibility issues. Furthermore, they will assist with upgrades, patches, and performance tuning of the Tetration platform, maintaining technical documentation and support logs related to Cisco Tetration operations.

Required Skills & Experience

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess the following skills and qualifications:

  1. 7–8 years of total experience in Network Engineering or IT Infrastructure roles
  2. Minimum 1–2 years of hands-on experience with Cisco Tetration platform in operational environments
  3. Strong knowledge of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP/OSPF), VLANs, ACLs, and firewalls
  4. Working knowledge of data center infrastructure, virtualization (VMware), and Linux operating systems
  5. Experience with application traffic mapping, segmentation, and policy enforcement using Cisco Tetration
  6. Familiarity with network and security best practices, compliance, and audit reporting

Additionally, certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or Professional (CCNP) and Cisco Tetration-related training or certification are preferred.
