Okulo Aerospace is an innovative early-stage startup based out of Bengaluru, Karnataka. By combining renewable energy and precision engineering, we are currently developing solar-electric hybrid aerial platforms that will revolutionize aerial data acquisition. Salary and Benefits
The estimated salary range for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to competitive financial compensation, we offer early-stage company benefits such as Employee Stock Ownership Plans (ESOPs), flexible work hours, professional autonomy, open door policy, and strong meritocracy.
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced aerodynamics engineer to join our team. As an Aerodynamics Engineer II - Advanced Aerodynamic System Design Specialist, you will be responsible for generating watertight meshes for CFD analysis, performing geometric clean-up if required, working with the preliminary design team to perform detailed CFD analysis, and simulating external aerodynamics, among other tasks. You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with our FEA team to investigate coupled phenomena such as aeroelasticity. The ideal candidate will have a Master's or PhD in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering, or a bachelor's degree in aerospace/mechanical engineering with relevant experience.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in detailed CFD analysis using RANS-based methods, knowledge of CAD software such as SolidWorks, and familiarity with turbulence modeling used in commercial CFD packages. OpenFOAM experience is preferred, but not required. Additionally, you should be able to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams, meet ambitious deadlines, and work under minimal supervision. Your skills in numerical methods, Taylor series, formulation of governing equations of fluid flow, solution schemes used in CFD solvers, boundary layer theory, and validation and verification methods used for external flow cases will be valuable assets in this position.
