Mobile Application Quality Assurance Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Mobile Application Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of mobile applications across various platforms.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Develop comprehensive test plans for mobile applications, ensuring all functional, non-functional, and performance aspects are thoroughly covered.
    • Perform manual and automated testing on iOS and Android applications, executing functional, regression, integration, usability, and performance tests.
    • Design and document detailed test cases, ensuring they align with the mobile app requirements and features.
    • Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools, working closely with developers to resolve issues in a timely manner.
    • Ensure seamless cross-platform compatibility, testing the mobile application's performance across different devices, OS versions, screen sizes, and orientations on Android and iOS platforms.
    • Conduct performance testing, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, and ensuring optimal app responsiveness.
    • Ensure the mobile application is intuitive and follows design and UX guidelines, identifying any UI/UX issues or inconsistencies.
    • Develop and maintain automated test scripts for mobile applications using tools such as Appium, Selenium, or Robot Framework.
    • Test applications across multiple device models, screen resolutions, and OS versions to ensure consistency and compatibility.
    • Integrate mobile apps with backend APIs, ensuring data flow, sync, and error handling work as expected.
    • Verify the security features of the mobile application, including secure storage, data encryption, and privacy-related functionalities.
    • Regression test new features and bug fixes to ensure they do not negatively impact existing functionality.
    • Maintain detailed records of test cases, test results, and defects, ensuring proper test documentation for future reference and compliance.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • 2-4 years of experience in mobile application testing (manual and automated) for iOS and Android platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of mobile testing principles, including UI/UX testing, functional testing, compatibility testing, and performance testing.
  • Experience with test automation tools such as Appium, Selenium, Robot Framework, or other mobile-specific testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with mobile app debugging tools such as Android Studio and Xcode.
  • Proficiency in bug tracking and project management tools like JIRA, Bugzilla, or TestRail.
  • Solid understanding of mobile OSs (iOS and Android) and mobile devices (smartphones, tablets).
  • Strong knowledge of mobile app lifecycle, including release cycles, versioning, and updates.
  • Experience with API testing and knowledge of Postman or SoapUI for backend validation.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and integration with mobile app testing processes.
  • Good knowledge of mobile performance testing and tools like JMeter, LoadRunner, or Charles Proxy.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify bugs, inconsistencies, and other issues.
  • Experience with network testing, device synchronization, and data storage testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
