Job Title: IC Layout Design Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced IC Layout Design Engineer to join our team at Whitefield Careers. As an IC Layout Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing integrated circuit layouts that meet the physical implementation requirements and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement IC layouts using industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to understand design requirements and constraints.
  • Perform layout vs. schematic (LVS) and design rule checking (DRC) to ensure layout accuracy and integrity.
  • Optimize layout designs for performance, area, and manufacturability.
  • Conduct physical verification and debug layout errors.
  • Coordinate with process engineers to address technology node-specific layout requirements.
  • Support tapeout activities and engage in post-layout extraction and simulations.
  • Stay updated with emerging IC layout methodologies and tools.
  • Contribute to design reviews and provide layout design recommendations.
  • Document design and layout processes, methodologies, and best practices.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IC layout design for analog/mixed-signal integrated circuits.
  • Proficiency in using Cadence Virtuoso and layout automation tools.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor process technology and layout effects.
  • Indepth knowledge of DRC/LVS checks and physical verification methodologies.
  • Ability to optimize layout for reliability, signal integrity, and manufacturability.
  • Experience with parasitic extraction tools and post-layout simulation.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills in resolving layout issues.
  • Good understanding of EDA tool flows and scripting languages like Skill and Perl.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
