Web Services Engineer - JSON

We are seeking a skilled professional to design, develop and maintain web services and APIs that support seamless integration between internal systems and third-party applications for US-based clients.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience in JSON data handling and integration maintenance. They will be responsible for ensuring smooth integration between various systems, both internal and third-party, and will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver integration solutions.

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot RESTful web services and APIs with JSON as the primary data format.
  • Ensure smooth integration between various systems, both internal and third-party.
  • Monitor, maintain, and optimize existing web services for reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, QA, and business analysts to gather requirements and deliver integration solutions.
  • Debug and resolve integration issues and provide timely fixes.
  • Document web service architecture, workflows, and integration processes.
  • Implement best practices for API security, error handling, and data validation.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in developing and maintaining web services and API integrations.
  • Strong proficiency in JSON and experience working with XML is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with RESTful API development and SOAP web services.
  • Experience with API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
  • Familiarity with integration platforms, middleware, or ESB tools is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of authentication and security protocols (OAuth, JWT, API keys).
  • Good programming skills in languages like Java, Python, or similar.
  • Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience working with version control tools (Git).
  • Good understanding of cloud services (AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
